Over the past few weeks I have taken on the challenge of food photography for a couple different companies. Normally my main focus is on people, but if the opportunities is given to me to try something new, then I will take it.
It all started with Italian Food With Style. I was asked if I would take some food shots, as she had fired her other photographer, and needed some professional shots for her website. After hearing what she needed I was more than happy to take on the challenge.
Anyone who has taken pictures of food knows it is hard work. You really can not make a salad smile or tell it to pose itself differently. It really is all about the colour, angle, and lighting.
Here are a few of the results from the Italian Food With Style shoot.
A few weeks later I was hired to take pictures at Edinburgh’s first all gluten free bakery Sugar Daddy’s. It was interesting being able to touch all the product with out fear of an allergic reaction. Yes I am one who can not handle gluten. It was a lot of fun in general to handle cakes. Here are a few of the results.
I am an absolute fan of Sugar Daddy’s Bakery. They have new items to try every week. Check them out Wednesday through Sunday on Rodney street. Here is their website http://www.sugardaddysedinburgh.com/.
